Recognizing Women in Real Estate and Construction
In honor of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, DBI Projects was thrilled to host a panel of female leaders in the real estate and construction industries
Participants included:
Susan Sack, Managing Director at Robin Hood
Dawne David-Pierre, AIA, NOMA, NCARB, LEED AP, Operations Director at Perkins & Will
Kate Reggev, AIA, Project Manager at Cohen Career Collective at LaGuardia Community College and Columnist at Madame Architect, and
Lissa So, Founding Partner at Marvel
These individuals were specifically invited by members of DBI Projects’ staff for their professional accomplishments and their commitment to creating an inclusive industry that fosters opportunities for the next generation of female leaders.
Each of the panelists were asked to speak on the paths they took to get to the positions they are in now, how they have navigated challenging moments in their careers, and advice they would pass onto the next generation of women in the industry. Difficult situations and obstacles to success have presented themselves on a regular basis, but these women showed perseverance and overcame barriers. Throughout the course of the event, it was evident just how passionate, hardworking and driven each of them are.
DBI Projects is grateful for their time and valuable insights as leaders in their respective fields and is proud to celebrate all of the women of DBI who have contributed to our success and continue to do so on a daily basis. A special thank you to Lillie Chong who organized the event, Margot Dirks and Mariela Abreu who served as hosts, and Renelle Torrico, Sarahdjane Mortimer, Varya Larionova, and Peter Hantes for moderating the panel.
