The SPARC Kips Bay project began deconstruction work last month and DBI Projects was honored to attend the event commemorating the site’s groundbreaking.
Work on the first-of-its-kind life sciences innovation, career, and education hub is officially underway in New York.
Governor Kathy Hochul was in attendance and remarked on the project’s transformative vision. “The new SPARC campus will drive innovation and research for New York’s nation-leading life sciences ecosystem, ensuring that groundbreaking medical advances are done right here in this city,” the governor said.
The event marked the beginning of one of the city’s most ambitious projects in a generation. DBI Projects is serving as the project’s owner’s representative for the initial phase of the development. We are working with the NYCEDC and SPD to manage the design and construction of a 600,000-sf tower on the eastern section of the site which will house new CUNY classroom and lab facilities, as well as a new life sciences focused New York City public high school.
