Boston turns out for Roxbury Prep’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

September 16, 2025

DBI Projects was honored to attend the ceremony last week celebrating Roxbury Prep’s new 83,000-sf campus—our largest ground-up project in Boston to date.

The new facility will serve more than 900 students, the majority of whom come from low-income communities, and accommodates both high school and middle school grade levels.

The event was held in the school’s new state-of-the-art gymnasium and began with a performance from the school’s cheer squad. Boston City Councilor John FitzGerald gave the keynote address and was joined by one hundred other civic, business, and community leaders in attendance.

The beautiful new facility was the result of nearly three years’ worth of work and DBI Projects’ longstanding relationship with Uncommon Schools. Working as the project’s Owner’s Project Manager in collaboration with school leaders, as well as project partners QPD, SMMA, and Suffolk, we guided the project from initial conceptual planning, through design and team assembly, and oversight of construction and closeout. Strong coordination and communication between all project stakeholders allowed us to overcome challenges during construction, including a significant soil abatement process that DBI managed. Project Manager Tyler Verrette played a major role in the project’s execution serving in a full-time on-site role and as Clerk-of-the-works.

Congratulations to the students and faculty of Roxbury Prep on your new school building. We are proud to have played a role in bringing it to life!
